Cecile Newcomb, AICP

Bringing nearly 30 years of experience serving local governments in various capacities, from volunteer boards to elected and appointed office to professional Planner, Cecile joined The Berkley Group in July, 2022. Most recently Cecile was a Planner II in Roanoke County’s Planning Department, after serving eight years as a Planning Commissioner and Town Council member in Blacksburg. With extensive community engagement experience, Cecile enjoys collaborating with the public and other stakeholders to plan and implement their goals and aspirations for their communities.

Cecile believes in achieving thriving, healthy communities through engaging planning processes and successful local government action. Cecile has experience with small area plans, comprehensive plans, regional plans, zoning and other ordinances and transportation planning, as well as private sector experience in sustainable construction and housing.

Cecile is an AICP certified planner and holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning, and a Certificate in Local Government Management from Virginia Tech.
