The American Public Works Association (APWA) held their annual Public Works Expo (PWX) in Kansas City, MO, at the end of August. The event, held in conjunction with the International Federation of Municipal Engineering (IFME) this year, welcomed nearly 6,000 public works professionals from 15 countries, including our Denise Nelson. The Sustainability Committee of the local chapter of the American Public Works Association is hosting a workshop on community resilience planning at their annual conference in Fredericksburg on May 4. The half day workshop format is a break from the typical sessions with technical presentations and will give attendees a chance to fill out a workbook so they can take away a draft plan for their community!
