After nearly three decades of experience as an institutional investor, Bryan transitioned his career toward finance and leadership, developing expertise in accounting processes and systems, financial planning & analysis, and organizational and team leadership. Bryan built his career over 25 years as an investment professional with the Virginia Retirement System, serving his final seven years as the Director of Fixed Income, followed by three years of consulting and financial leadership roles. His experience spans managing teams of professionals, establishing policies and strategic vision, researching and implementing proprietary and third-party software solutions, and maintaining multi-million dollar budgets. Bryan is a Certified SCORE Mentor with the Small Business Administration and he has served his local government in various volunteer capacities, including as the Chair of the Treasurer’s Finance Board and as the President of the Fluvanna Education Foundation.
Bryan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, a Master’s Degree in Management Information Technology from the University of Virginia, he is a graduate of VCU’s Commonwealth Management Institute, and he has nearly completed his MBA at the University of Mary Washington. Bryan is also a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the CFA Institute, and a retired member of the National Association of State Investment Professionals.
