Welcome Nelsie Birch

We’re excited to welcome Nelsie Birch to Berkley Group as our new Director of Public Finance, where she will lead and grow our public finance practice.

Nelsie brings an exceptional blend of public sector leadership and private sector innovation. From leading significant change as CFO for Albemarle County to helping build operations for a venture-backed technology startup, she pairs strong financial strategy with real-world results.

Her experience spans local governments across the country, including leadership roles in Alexandria, Greensboro, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. She has led financial and operational turnarounds for distressed organizations and has also taught fiscal strategy, public budgeting, and performance to the next generation of public leaders.

Nelsie’s passion for building strong, sustainable communities, combined with her depth of experience, makes her a tremendous addition as Berkley Group continues to expand its public finance services.
