Edena Reese-Atmore

Edena J. Reese-Atmore is currently serving as a Public Finance Consultant for the Berkley Group, LLC. As a seasoned and energetic servant leader, she has over 35 years of financial management and government leadership experience. She has recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for the City of Martinsville in Virginia. Her roles in various localities and organizations included Assistant City Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Financial Services Director, Chief of Staff, Chief Investment Officer, Business Administrator, Customer Accounting Manager, Senior Contract Analyst, Senior Budget Analyst, and Senior Auditor. Her accomplishments and experience include direct oversight of municipal departments such as Financial Services, Community Services, Development Services, Municipal Court, Parking Operations, Facility Events, and Fleet Operations. She has also successfully assisted organizations in achieving Financial Reporting excellence, Distinguished Budget Presentation awards, financial transparency awards, and an upgrade in bond credit ratings. Industries worked in include banking, property management, financial and investment planning, school districts, and nonprofit organizations.
Before beginning her career, Edena earned her BBA degree in Finance and Marketing from St. Edward’s University in Austin and obtained a Master of Accounting and Business Administration degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. Edena has been designated by the States of Texas and New York as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has also currently met all the requirements for the national and state designations of Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO), Certified Public Manager (CPM), Certified Public Funds Investment Manager (CPFIM) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). She is currently a doctoral candidate in Public Administration at Liberty University. Mentoring others and providing leadership guidance is her passion.
