Leslie Peterson

Leslie Peterson is a public-sector finance and operations consultant with more than 30 years of experience advising school systems and local governments on budgeting, capital planning, procurement, and organizational effectiveness. She previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Management Services for Arlington Public Schools, where she was the principal advisor to the Superintendent and School Board on financial strategy, policy decisions, and operational performance.
Throughout her career, Leslie has guided leadership teams and elected bodies through complex financial challenges, including annual operating budget development, multi-year capital improvement planning, financial system and payroll conversions, and procurement compliance. She is known for translating technical financial information into clear, actionable guidance that supports sound decision-making and builds stakeholder trust.
Leslie has extensive experience working with community advisory groups, local government partners, and diverse stakeholders, and she brings a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to every engagement. She holds a Masters in Business Administration from George Mason University.
