Nancy Bowman

Nancy Bowman comes to the Berkley Group with over 38 years of state and local government experience. She began her career as a social worker, moving into community development and delinquency prevention. Nancy began her career in human resources at Virginia Tech in recruitment and EEO, moving to James Madison University in classification and compensation, and then became the first Human Resources Director for the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind.  Her career then led her to serve as the Human Resources Director for the City of Staunton from 2001 until her retirement in 2011.  She has a passion for service and after eight months of retirement, she was recruited to be the first Human Resources Director at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, adding non-profit experience to her resume. She was selected as Public Servant of the year by JMU in 2011 having served in numerous community and church activities and boards.  She continues to volunteer and serve the community and welcomes the opportunity to continue serving local government in their needs.

Nancy has a B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University in Social Work and a M.A. from Virginia Tech in Student Personnel-Personnel Management.
