Organizational Strategic Assessment

In 2022, the Berkley Group performed an organizational strategic assessment for Rockbridge County’s Community Development, Human Resources and Finance departments. To complete the organizational strategic assessment, the Berkley Group developed staff questionnaires and conducted eight on-site interviews to gain insight on County operations and employee perspectives. The questionnaires and interviews helped determine performance by function, current procedures, operational workflow, strengths and weaknesses, and overall performance. With the questionnaires and staff interviews, the Berkley Group assessed existing conditions and conducted a workflow, organizational, and performance/position analysis of each department. The organizational strategic assessment resulted in recommendations that are implementation focused, identifying the responsible party, fiscal impact, and timeframe.
