The Berkley Group helped the Commonwealth Regional Council (CRC) update their Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA). This work involved coordination with CRC staff, the project management team, local stakeholders, and VDEM. The HIRA update included hazards impacting the region, analyzing the degree to which hazards impact localities, and assessing community risk and vulnerability to hazards. For the first time, the project team for the region addressed hazards such as invasive species, radon, pandemic/infectious agent, and climate change. This project was completed in June 2022.
