On January 20, 2022, Jay Stegmaier - Executive Manager for the Berkley Group - passed away. He was a wonderful leader, mentor, and champion for local government. Jay was so dedicated to local government; a brilliant mind that was laser focused on building better communities and growing strong leaders around him. He was instrumental in building the Berkley Group's Executive Transition Assistance (ETA) program. He had many accolades in his career including Chesterfield County Administrator, served on the Board of Visitors for Virginia State University, and many others, but the best is that we could know is to have called him a friend.
Jay’s motto was to find something to live for every day. That is a true calling - that we seek out that "something" every day on our own path and live it.
